Find files associated with processes
article #82, updated 5775 days ago

The Microsoft Process Explorer is an excellent tool to tell us which files and/or folders on a system are being used by each individual active process.  If you need to delete or rename a locked file or folder, use the Find menu and put the file/folder name into its single item, and you’ll have what you need.

If you have .NET applications crashing on you, use this tool:

http://blogs.msdn.com/astebner/pages/8904493.aspx

and do this:

1. Run the tool, remove all .NET, all versions.
2. Install .NET of the versions you need.
3. Go to Windows Update, get all appropriate updates, especially the .NET updates.
4. Reboot.

Things are likely to work a whole lot better.
